Sweet Water can be listed as playing one game against a border state, or at least and out of state game. Oct 2,2009 against Bastrop, LA. The game is listed in 2009, just not in the "border states" area.

That is a little difficult to do. We have on file 6,768 games where an Alabama high school has played a game against a team from another state. To determine which games were more important would be a big task to say the least. It is something that would make a good article that I could work on one day.

There are more and more good games against our nearby states with several coming up in a couple of weeks.

I can tell you that from the information we curently have these are the won-lost records versus neighbor states.

vs. Georgia 1025-937-65
vs. Tennessee 569-399-33
vs. Mississippi 864-652-54
vs. Florida 1018-898-77

I wonder how many of our teams have played good teams from out-of-state? Maybe that stat could be reported somewhere.

I do understand that Louisiana is not a border state. Just thought it was worth noting.

Love the forum.

Being techincal we only include games against the border states of Alabama and since Louisiana does not border Alabama we would not include the Bastrop game.
Thanks
