Posted - 11/04/2010 : 16:41:25 Gadsden finished the regular season 4-5 in 1986 and won 8 straight games to win the class 5A championship. They were 1-5 at one point in the season. Courtland was 4-6 in 1999 and then won their last 6 games to win the 1A championship.

Posted - 11/04/2010 : 12:21:28 I'll bet it's Courtland (Hubbard) with the worse record. Courtland has entered the playoffs with a break even record many times because of the higher classes they played in non-region games.
I'm sure there's many 7-3 teams that won state. Clay-Chalkville in 1999 is one that comes to mind, also I believe Jess Lanier in 1990. Jess Lanier played a couple of out of state powers that year, but dominated in-state. Clay-Chalkville played Lee-Montgomery in '99 and Lee entered the playoffs with a losing record only to avenge almost every loss they had as well as make the state title game.
