Are people sleeping on Scottsboro?

JEREF	Posted - 11/17/2025 : 16:29:30 Four regular season losses. That raises eyebrows. 1. Ft. Payne - 2nd rd 5A playoff team 2. Central Clay - 3rd rd 5A playoff team 3. Brewer - No excuses on this one. That's a game they should have won. 4. Mars Hill University - 'Nuf said. Otherwise they beat: North Jackson 7-4 Boaz 8-3 Guntersville 9-2 That's a pretty tough schedule. This week they play Fairview, who appear to have a single regular season win of note: Good Hope. Several of their other games were against pretty terrible teams, or at best .500 teams. Three common opponents also point towards Scottsboro being a better team. I'm wondering if the 6-4 regular season record deceived some people.

I'm wondering if the 6-4 regular season record deceived some people. Fairview is weird--they beat Russellville and Priceville pretty decisively, two teams who have wins over the next best teams in 5A-8--but they struggled mightily to beat Sardis and Arab. So that could be a weird game Friday night. Not that I truly think it matters, I figure the north championship will take place a little bit south in Moody, tbh.
mcslate	Posted - 11/17/2025 : 20:27:16 I think what people forget about Scottsboro is that they already had to replace a multi-year starting quarterback this season, and then had to replace him after an injury right before the season began. They've had to overcome a lot this year. I think the Brewer loss was just the worst case scenario from having a homecoming game the week before a showdown with Guntersville. They're still teenage kids and don't always focus like they should.
