The 2026 "March to Mobile" AHSAA high school football campaign kicks off in about two months. We're going to base a podcast on your thoughts regarding favorites to win a state championship in their respective classifications. You can list up to four teams per classification. (That just gets more teams mentioned)
6A
5A
4A
3A
2A
1A
Private AA
Private A

Adding some random thoughts after each classification. Sometimes I will repeat myself, but earnestly mean what I say.

A: Cottage Hill Academy
Mobile Christian
Montgomery Academy
Westbrook Christian

Montgomery Academy has amazing skill players again but is
going to have to hope some underclassmen on the OL and DL have
growth spurts.

AA: Catholic-Montgomery
McGill-Toolen
St. Michaels
St. Pauls

The size disparity between the big and small schools in this
classification is absurd.

1A: Leroy
Maplesville
Addison
Appalachian

Loaded at the top.

2A: Luverne
Piedmont
Gordo
Fyffe

Also loaded at the top.

3A: Jackson
Handley
Winfield
Geraldine

One of the weaker classifications when considered in its
entirety.

4A: Willamson
Vigor
Northside
Central Clay

Probably the strongest classification when considered in its
entirety. Also, keep an eye on if Coach Moody and some
transfers from Southside can turn Selma around.

5A: Saraland
Benjamin Russell
Pike Road
Clay-Chalkville

Itis going to be Clay-Chalkville again.

6A: Auburn
Central Phenix City
Prattville
Thompson

It is going to be Thompson again. Whether it is 6A or 7A or 6A
again, there are only ever two or three real contenders.
Prattville is on the list to fill it out and because of Bobby
Carr.

I deal mainly with 1A and would bet the FARM that one of these five win the title. In no order, Addison, Hubbertville, Red Bay, Leroy and Maplesville. There is a 100% probability that's going to occur.

I'll add some other teams that might be in the running themselves. Maybe I've missed some news, but I feel like these are also good contenders.

6A:
Hewitt-Trussville
Auburn

5A:
Pike Road

4A:
Seems like a mess; the four listed seem like they have way too much for many other teams in 4A to compete with

3A:
Corner
Plainview

2A:
Southside Selma
Gordo
Pisgah

1A:
Addison (Although Leroy and Maplesville are certainly the heavy favorites)

AA:
Catholic Montgomery

A:
Mars Hill
Coosa Christian
