Dunham Harkins was hired by Russellville as head coach and athletic director on August 25, 1932. He was an Auburn 1932 graduate and a top baseball player.

Malcomb Laney, assistant coach at the University of Alabama in 1948, said that his first football position was at Russellville in 1933. He may have been an assistant coach at Russellville.
