Posted - 07/11/2013 : 22:09:10 A friend of the website brought to my attention a couple of discrepancies in our records with regards to two coaches. He helped clear up Joe Hubbert but I am still confused on Morris Higginbotham. The AHSAA coaches hall of fame stated his record as 190-73-11 but we have him at 159-79-10.
I beleive I have all the head coaching jobs he held during his career and the correct years. Anyone have an idea of where we are wrong?
Posted - 07/12/2013 : 11:18:02 David, he wasn't the coach at Hueytown in 1982 as he retired in 81. I looked up several things. One is the AHSAA Hall of Fame page which lists him as having 27 seasons as a head coach and a record of 190-73-8. He was the coach of Livingston University from 1967-69. Also is this Tuscaloosa News article upon his hiring at Livingston which lists his record as 111-27-8 in 15 seasons. It very well could be a mix up of numbers with the AHSAA, and everyone else since then has just copied and pasted what they've said. I'm sure Ron Ingram would be interested. I will see if I can contact the elder Coach Higginbotham's son and see what I can find out.
