Wadley & Maplesville at 100% selection in 1A is really telling of the disparity in talent/competition at that level. Pretty much everyone thinks they are penciled into the finals.

Jeref, I don't think it is a talent disparity but a player or two here and there. Naturally you will have better athletes in the larger classes due to numbers, facilities, training, etc. not having to go both ways, usually. You take one player of exceptional talent, does he dominant in the larger classifications? Not every week and he usually needs a little help since alot of the players don't go both ways. But you take a player in 1A or 2A that can dominate even in the larger classes he can carry that team pretty much by himself. I would guess that in 1A and some 2A's you may only have 10-13 starters for both sides of the ball. Starters may get a little rest mainly on kickoffs. Don't get me wrong I'm not delusional thinking that theres no difference in classes but an uber talented player can dominate and carry a team in the lower classes.

Yes and a top 100 national player like Wilkes from Wadley is just a ton to overcome for any 1A team. On top of that Wadley is always good and has other good players. So you take an already perennial contender and give them one of the top 100 players in the country and its an almost unfair fight.

There is a world where maybe Mckenzie could get Maplesville, but its hard to fathom anyone in the north beating Wadley.
