Zach Golson is out as head coach at Mary G. Montgomery. From what I?ve seen it looks like he was recruiting kids at Semmes Middle and having them sign letters of intent to MGM, which he couldn?t do since the school also aligns with other high schools in the area. I don?t exactly know the rules and not all the details are final, but at first glance it is an odd situation. I wonder what?ll happen with him and the MGM program.

Bit of an update: Mary G Montgomery will be fined and banned for post-season play. Zach Golson will be suspended for the entirety of the 2026-2027 football season. They will still play their 10 regular season games, but they will not count for anything in region play or tie-breakers. I could not find the amount for the fine.
