Although possible, I find it unlikely that the John C Thomas who coached Winston County in 1938 is the same John C Thomas who coached Lowndes County in 1981.
But the coach at Winston County could be the same as John Charles Thomas at Robertsdale in 1940. It would be a long move so I don't know about that one. It is very difficult to find these coaches with the same name from different eras. Thanks to everyone who takes the time to let me know these things. All I usually do to seperate the coaches is to add a (.) (period) after one of the names to make them appear to be different and not come up together in searches. I am sure there are many others we have not found yet. But, we will keep looking.
I thought the guy who coached at Piper in the 30's travelled far between his coaching moves. Back then going from one side of the state to the other was a long trip as well.
If Thomas was 20 when he was coaching Winston County back in '38, in 1981 he would have been 63, or if he was 30 would have been 73. But for the fact those 2 years are his ONLY stops recorded, then more than likely not, lol.
