What teams will enter the 500 wins club this year? And which coaches will reach the 100 wins milepost? Are there any 500 wins schools that also have a 100 wins coach?
There are two ways for a team to join the 500 win club. First a team can win their 500th game and that one is easy to figure out. The most realistic team to join the 500 club in 2010 is Bessemer City (Jess Lanier)with 496 wins and Athens with 491 wins. I don't see any other team getting to 500 wins this way.
The other way to get to 500 wins is for someone to do enough research to find 500 wins for a team. Now this could add quite a few teams to the 500 win club with the right reseach. Some of the teams I know with 500 wins and only lacking some research would include: Cullman (487) Wetumpka (483) Huntsville (483) Elba (480) Central Phenix City (459) Luverne (456) Addison (452) Eufaula (450)
There are many others that could join but without the research we just don't know. I will need to give you the list of coaches later. I have that list but it is not where I am at the moment. More on that question in a few days.
Here is a list of the coaches we have with at least 90 wins coming into the 2010 season and the school they currently coach.
Dale Jeffreys - 99 wins at Red Bay John Grass - 97 wins at Oxford Joe Billingsley - 96 wins at Gadsden City Mark Britton - 96 wins at Cullman Robert Maddox 94 wins at Lee-Scott Academy Mike Battles Jr. - 93 wins at Bibb County Mose Jones - 92 wins at A.L. Johnson Glynn Lott - 90 wins at Macon-East Academy
