Along with the series of articles on the coaches I have spent the summer working on the Bios for each coach with at least 100 wins. I have finished about 120 of the 321 coaches thus far.
If you see a coach I have not completed and can help me out, just let me know.
Shane, I could use some help with O.P. Mitchell if you have anything on him. I just can not find much.
Mike, the same thing with George Hoblitzell. Some of the olded coaches are difficult to dig up much information on.
Any help is appreciated.

This is what I have from his Hall of Fame induction, and what I use in my SC/SV information. I also have several annuals from Cahaba/Valley where they gave a write up about him, but mainly how they feel about him, that he's a good coach, etc. I also have several pictures of him if you need any.
OREN PRENTICE "Piggy" MITCHELL - Spent 31 of his 37 years in coaching at Jefferson County Schools where his Shades Cahaba, Hewitt-Trussville and Shades Valley teams compiled an overall record of 182-118-19 as he introduced the T-formation in the county. He became head football and baseball coach at Shades Cahaba in 1934 where he remained 17 years until 1950. He had short coaching stints at Bankhead and Valley Head. Also, he introduced county schools to dirt court basketball and wrestling. Now deceased, he served as president of the AHSAA Fifth District Board for 25 years. A graduate of Simpson High School and Valparaiso University.

I pretty much have that much. I could use a photo if you want to email one to me. I am trying to find where coaches came from and what they did before becoming head coaches.
I am working on some of the current coaches with 100 wins via email and a list of questions that some have been gracious enough to return.
If you come across any articles on the B'ham coaches let me know. Obits are a good source also.

I am still working on the bios for the 100 win coaches. I have enough information on most of them to complete a short bio of their careers, but am hitting brick walls with some. Maybe someone around here can help me out with these.
Anything you have can be posted or emailed to me at dparker@ahsfhs.org
I am looking for the following info for most of these coaches. 1. When and where they were born? 2. Where did they attend High School and when did they graduate? 3. Did they play sports in high school? If so which ones and what positions? Any awards? 4. Where did they attend college and get your degree? 5. Did they play sports in college? 6. Where were their first coaching jobs and when, before they became a head coach? 7. Did they, or do they coach any other sports? 8. Any honors received during their coaching career?
