The top 10 for 4A is going to be interesting after this week.
How many spots does #1 Jackson or #2 St. Michael fall after losing to the other?
If St. Michael wins, does West Morgan leap-frog a two-loss Jackson team?
If Anniston beats Cherokee Co, how far does a two-loss Cherokee Co team fall?
Does anyone believe in Good Hope enough for them to climb the ladder when they crush Curry?
How high does Madison Academy climb if they kill North Jackson?
Same question for Opp (5-0) and Plainview (5-0)?
IF St. Michael beats Jackson West Morgan beats East Lawrence Anniston beats Cherokee Co Good Hope beats Curry
Who would be OK with the following: #1 - St. Michael (6-0) #2 - West Morgan (6-0) #3 - Anniston (6-0) #4 - Good Hope (6-0) #5 - Madison Academy (5-1) #6 - Jackson (5-2) #7 - Cherokee Co (5-2)
Even at 5-2 I think Jackson is probably the top team, but the variations for 4A this week are crazy to consider.
It is too hard to predict what the ASWA will do. Half the stuff they do doesn't make sense. But for me how far Jackson or St Michael falls is largely dependent on what type of game it is. No way in heck that the loser should fall out of the top 10 and one could argue top 5.
Good Hope is one that is a mystery. I still don't think they played anyone really very good. Addison is "good" for a 1A team but not great and of course they're 1A. Not to disparage Good Hope, but they did the same thing last year running out to a 9-0 record before losing big to 5A Fairview, beating a pretty bad Hatton team in the first round and getting trucked by Anniston in the 2nd round.
