Montgomery Academy vs Catholic Montgomery in 2021. That Catholic team annihilated teams, including Montgomery Academy 42-0 in that season. They scored 700 points in 14 games, and they only time they trailed all season was when Montgomery Academy hit the game winning field goal to win 10-7.
I played in it my junior year. 2002 #2 & undefeated Red Bay traveled to Randolph County in the second round. We was a third seed that finished the season 5-5. We won 24-21. The most interesting thing about that game was, Randolph County scored 21 points before the offense touched the field (1 KR TD & 2 PR TD?s).
My freshman year I watched from the sidelines as top ranked & undefeated Clay County came to Wedowee on Friday the 13th. RCHS won that game 18-13. Clay County went on to win the 2Astate championship with their sole loss coming to RCHS.
I?ve played in some memorable games and have witnessed a lot too.

If I recall, MA was intentionally vanilla in the regular season since it was a non-region game and essentially used it to scout Catholic in person because they expected to have to play them again. Really smart coaching.
