Past Girls Volleyball State Champions

Alabama High School Volleyball

Girl's volleyball is a relatively new sport in Alabama having only been around since the early 1970s. At that time there were only a few schools participating but it has grown over the years.

The first state tournament to crown a state champion was played in 1971 with Bradshaw taking the first of three consecutive titles in a single classification.

By 1975 the AHSAA moved to two classifications and then to four for the 1977 volleyball season. Bradshaw continued to dominate as they won four of the first five championships.

Today schools participant each November for one of the seven state championship crowns awarded by the AHSAA in each classification.

The most dominate team over the past couple of decades has been Bayside Academy. The Admirals have taken home a total of 31 trophies.

ASHFHS.org

Following years of research, in June of 2007 the AHSFHS.org website became a reality. Many people have gotten involved to assist us  with research of the schools and teams to make this a reality.

Other team sports have joined football as a part of our research. Initially AHSFHS.org will include information about coaches, state playoffs, all state teams, player awards and team records.

It is virtually impossible to provide scores for every  game for every team. Who knows, later even that may be a possibility. There is still a lot of work to do with the all state teams of years past but our intentions are to find every team.

We encourage everyone to get involved in helping us provide the most accurate information possible. If you have information that would be useful to us please let us know.
