Game MVP:
Records: Hazlewood (13-1); Hokes Bluff (10-4)
Coaches: Larry Bishop, Hazlewood and H.K. Reeves, Hokes Bluff
Game: Played Friday December 5, 1975 at Town Creek
Summary: The Golden Bears would score at will against the helpless Hokes Bluff Eagle's defense in the first
half in a 53-0 rout for the state championship in Class 2A.
Hazlewood would score every time they had possession of the
football in the first half except when the clock ran out on them
at halftime. They would score on seven of eight possessions.
Hazlewood amassed 412 yards rushing in the game led by Gary
Madden's 202 yards and five touchdowns. The Golden Bears defense
would hold the Eagles to only 12 yards rushing in the first half
and allowed minus 11 in the second half.
This would be
Hazelwood's second title in only two playoff appearances as they
also won the championship in 1970. Hokes Bluff was making their
first title game appearance in their very first time to even
make the playoffs.
