Summary:

Northview would score on a 64 yard eight play drive to open the second half and then hang on to the lead for their first state championship. Dicky Lillard would hit Larry Roberts for the six yard scoring pass. Carver defensive back Cedric Delbridge returned a blocked punt 23 yards for a touchdown late in the third quarter to cut the lead to 7-6 but Andrew Anderson's conversion was wide right.
After a Northview fumble put the Rams in business with just under four minutes remaining they moved from their own 42 to the Cougars 8 yard line. On fourth down from the four yard line a bad snap on the field goal attempt would assure the Cougars the title. Anderson would finish the night completing 8 of 18 passes for 159 yards.
