Summary:
              Derek Montgomery ran for 189 yards and three touchdowns as Dallas County won its first ever state title. The Hornets, who had never won a playoff game before this season, would blow the game open in the second half after a 1 yard run by Montgomery with 12 seconds left before halftime gave them a 21-7 lead. Plainview had entered the game as the favorite after an undefeated regular season.

The Tuscaloosa Black Bears were considered one of the best programs in the nation from 1925-1931. Their record over that span was an amazing 61-0-3.
