Game: Played Saturday December 9, 2000 at Legion Field, Birmingham

Summary:
Kendall Gibson ran wild over the Colbert County Indians gaining a whopping 289 yards rushing in a 50-7 rout for the 3A state crown. Gibson also scored five touchdowns for the 15-0 top-ranked Yellow Jackets. The win deprived Colbert County of their seventh state title and gave Aliceville their second in four years having also beaten Colbert County in 1997.

The 15 wins was also a school record for the Yellow Jackets. Gibson also set a single season rushing record with 3,073 yards eclipsing the old record set by Lee Cagle of Lynn in 1996 while scoring on runs of 27, 44, 46, 9 and 3 yards. Aliceville also scored on a 43 yard punt return by Marvin Sommerville and an 11 yard pass from Taurus Sommerville to Donnell Taylor.

The Indians scored their only points in the second quarter on a 36 yard pass from Lazarus Peters to Richard Bates.
