Summary:
          Prattville broke Hoover's four-year hold on the Class 6A state title and avenged a loss to the Bucs in the 2004 championship game with a 35-21 win over the Bucs. It was the second state title for the Lions after a 1984 championship win over J.O. Johnson.
          Justin Albert ran for 146 yards and three touchdowns, Larry Smith added 174 all-purpose yards and Prattville's defense sacked Ross Wilson six times to end Hoover 's reign atop 6A football in the state.
          Hoover pulled within a touchdown in the third quarter before Albert scored on runs of 14 and 64 yards to give the Lions a cushion.

Bart Starr received coaching from Kentucky great Babe Parilli his senior season at Sidney Lanier in hopes of joining Bear Bryant at Kentucky. He had to settle for Alabama.
