 Brent Hubbert

Hubbert is a 1984 graduate of Lanett High School and a 1989 graduate of Jacksonville State.

In 2001, Brent Hubbert became the head football coach and athletic director at Jemison High School where he stayed for three seasons with a 17-15 record and two playoff spots. Following the 2003 football season he moved to Maplesville.

Hubbert was familiar with Maplesville before he took the job as the schools varsity football coach prior to the 2004 season. Hubbert's father coached the Red Devils from 1984-86, from 1991-99 and during the 2000 season, leading Maplesville to two state championship games and winning one.

Coach Hubbert's teams of 2006 and 2007 completed perfect 10-0 regular seasons before losing in the semi-finals of the playoffs.

His 2010 team ran through the regular season undefeated before falling in the third round of the playoffs. The 2011 Red Devils compiled a perfect 12-0 record before finally falling to eventual Class 1A runner-up Linden, 21-7, in the third round of the state playoffs.

Hubbert notched the 100th win of his career on Oct. 12, 2012 when the Red Devils defeated Autaugaville, 41-6. His overall record, coming into the 2017 season is 160-38 in 16 seasons as a head football coach.

In 2014, Maplesville finished 14-0 and won the class 1A state championship with a 49-0 win over Hubbertville. Brent joins his father by winning a state championship at the school.

The 2015 and 2016 teams also won championships with convincing wins in the title games.

Hubbert moved on to T.R. Miller in 2019 as the head football coach.

All but one of his teams (2002 at Jemison) have qualified for the playoffs and thirteen have won region titles. His region record stands at 127-20 which ranks as one of the best in the state.

His father, Jim Hubbert, won 173 games from 1984 through 2000 while coaching at Maplesville and Lanett.
