Bud Mills
Bud Mills was a coach, teacher and administrator in Alabama for 41 years. He graduated from Washington County High School and received his degree from Livingston University. Following college he played baseball in the Cleveland Indians organization in 1947.
His first head coaching job came in 1950 at Hazlewood where he led the Golden Bears for four seasons. He moved over to Vincent for one season before accepting the head coaching job at Cherokee in 1955. His greatest success came at Cherokee Vocational School over the next 19 seasons.
Over the course of his career he coached basketball, baseball and football and led each to the state playoffs. His overall record in football was 154-85-4.
Mills is a member of the Colbert County Sports Hall of Fame. He was also inducted into the Alabama High School Athletic Associations Hall of Fame in 1993.

From 1947 until his retirement in 1992 Glenn Daniel's teams won 302 games at Pine Hill and Luverne. He was the winningest coach in state history until 2010.
