Chad Young graduated from Ranburne in 1989. He was a three sport athlete earning many honors including All-state in Football. He received a mathematics degree from West Georgia University and a Masters degree in school administration from Jacksonville State.
He served as an assistant coach at Cleburne County and Ranburne from 1993-1998.
In 1999, at the age of 28, Young stepped into the head coaching position at Ranburne.
Young taught algebra, was head football coach, baseball coach, and athletic director during his tenure at Ranburne. His baseball teams reached the state playoffs every year with a final four berth in 2014.
He was footballs 2015 ALFCA coach of the year. His 2014 Football team was the first team in RHS history to reach a record of 12-0 record. He was the Anniston Star 2014 baseball coach of the year and 2015 Anniston Star football coach of the year.
Overall his football record stands at 101-80 in 17 years as a head coach at the school.
Currently he serves as the Cleburne County school superintendent.
