 Charles Boren

Charles Boren graduated from Midfield High School near Birmingham in 1978. He received his degree from Jacksonville State.

Boren returned to his alma mater, Midfield, in 1984 as a teacher and assistant coach. He served as an assistant for nine season before accepting the head coaching position in 1993. He led the Patriots for the next five years with a record of 41-19. Each of his teams won a region title and qualified for the playoffs.

In his last season at Midfield, the Patriots were 11-2, losing to Class 6A Walker in the first game of the season by one point and falling to eventual state champion Alexandria in the semifinals of the state playoffs.

Following the 1997 season he moved to Montevallo High School for another five year stint. In 2004 Boren took over the football program at Bibb County High School for two years before moving to St. Clair County High School in 2006.

Boren landed the head coaching job at Newton County High School in Mississippi before taking an assistant position, working with the running backs, with Faulkner University in 2011.

He would remain with the Fighting Saints for five seasons with a 30-23 record. His overall record stands at 109-75 in 17 seasons as a head football coach.
