Don Jacobs
Jacobs, spent the majority of his 35-year career coaching at the college level. He is originally from Scottsboro and was a star football player in high school and helped lead the University of Alabama to a National Championship in 1979 as a quarterback.
In 2007 Coach Jacobs took his first high school head coach position at Elkmont high school. It was the first head coaching job of his career. His three teams at Elkmont finished with a 22-13 record and qualified for the playoffs each season.
Jacobs took over the football program at Oneonta in 2010. His second team reached the state championship game before losing. In 2013 Oneonta won Coach Jacobs' first state title. He led three consecutive teams to the Super Six championship game. In 2017, Jacobs moved over to Scottsboro for four more seasons before retiring from the sidelines.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History
Foley outscored their opponents 433-6 in 1961. The Lions were named state champions by the Alabama Sports Writers Association that season.
