Doug Vickery Jr.
Doug Vickery Jr. attended Flomaton high school his freshman and sophomore seasons before graduating from Escambia Academy in 1988.
Vickery graduated from Troy University in 1993 and he began his coaching career while a student at Troy. He was an assistant coach at Goshen High School from 1991-93.
He served as an assistant at Bob Jones for one season before landing the head coaching job at Ariton for one season in 1995. He left for Coffeeville for the 1996 season before moving to Monroe County in 1998 as an assistant coach.
Vickery served as the defensive coordinator at Washington County from 1998-2001. In 2002 he landing the head football coaching job at Florala where he served for four seasons with a 23-21 record.
Coach Vickery returned home to Flomaton in 2006 where he has remained as the head football coach the past twelve seasons. His overall record entering the 2023 season stands at 150-116 in 24 seasons as a head football coach.
His 2018 team finished 12-3 capping the season with the schools first ever state championship in Auburn.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History
Parrish scored a record 77 points in a playoff game against Cedar Bluff in 2001. The Tornados were shutout the following week 19-0 by Courtland.
