Coach Rigbys coaching career began in Louisiana, where he served as an assistant coach at Independence High, Northwest Rankin High and Mendenhall High. He then moved on to become the head coach at Albany High School, where he led the team to a school record for wins in a season and a playoff berth.
Rigby later coached the Loranger High School Wolves to an undefeated district championship and was named Class 2A Coach of the Year.
Rigby served as an assistant coach at Tabor College, Holmes Community College, and Jackson State University before accepting the head coaching position at Tate High in Pensacola FL for six seasons. He later served as the offensive coordinator at Goshen for one season before accepting the head coaching position at Elba High School in 2013.
His teams at Elba found success going 53-12 in five seasons winning three region titles and a 31-2 record in region play and a Class 2A state title in 2015.
In 2018 Rigby moved to Eufaula for four seasons with each of his teams reaching the playoffs.
Pike Road was Rigbys third head coaching stop in Alabama in 2022 where his team went 7-5 before losing in the second round of the playoffs.
In 2023 he moved on to Luverne to lead the Tigers and their prestigious football program.
