 George Hoblitzell 

George Hoblitzell is a 1965 graduate of Anniston High School. Hoblitzell attended Snead State College where he played basketball and baseball (1965-1967). He is a graduate of Jacksonville State University.

Hoblitzell's first head coaching position came at Douglas High School in Marshall County in 1970. He remained there for one season and with a 4-5-1 record. He moved to Valley Head in 1971 and finished the 1972 season with an 11-2 record losing to Marion County in the Class 1A State Championship game 38-21.

After two seasons at Valley Head, Hoblitzell accepted the head football job at Fort Payne High School in 1973. He stayed one year and moved back to Valley Head where he stayed another three years. His 1976 squad reached the semi-finals before losing to Addison 26-17.

Hoblitzell took over as the head coach at Cleburne County High School in 1977. He coached there for four seasons and then move to Scottsboro for one year in 1981.

His next stop came in Piedmont where he had stayed for 13 seasons and became the schools winningest coach with a record of 105-44. Piedmont had gone 7 years without a winning record and had never made the playoffs. In his 13 seasons they had 11 winning teams and made the playoffs nine times playing in the semi-finals in 1993.

Hoblitzell moved to Dade County High School in Trenton, Georgia in 1995 where he stayed 5 seasons and took them to their first playoff berth in 1999. He moved to Lumpkin County High School in Dahlonega, GA where he stayed 6 years.

He moved to Calhoun High School Calhoun, GA as a volunteer assistant coach in 2006 for five years. He became the defensive coordinator at Rome High School, GA during the 2011-2012 seasons.

Hoblitzell became the defensive coordinator at Calhoun High School in Georgia for the 2013 season. His coaching record stands at 172-101-2 in Alabama and 52-64 in Georgia for an overall record of 223-165-2 in 36 seasons as a head coach.
