 Jerry Hill

Jerry Hill was a four sport athlete at Brooks High School where he was twice selected All-County and All-State in football, basketball and track. He was named 1977 Lauderdale County Athlete of the Year playing running back. Hill also played in the Alabama All-Star Game in Tuscaloosa following his senior season.

After graduating high school, Hill played at the University of North Alabama from 1977 through 1980 and was team captain during his senior season. He was part of North Alabamas first Gulf South Conference championship team in 1980, catching a dramatic last-minute touchdown pass in a clinching win over rival Jacksonville State. Following his playing days in college he was drafted by the Washington Redskins in 1980.

His first head coaching job came at Central Florence where he posted a 37-22 record as a head football coach over five seasons (1989-93). Coach Hill led his team to the semifinals in 1992 and 1993 before moving to Coffee High School in 1994.

In eight years at Coffee his teams made the playoffs three times. In 2004 Coach Hill became the head football coach at Brooks High School. He led the Lions to the state semifinals in 2007 and is the winningest coach in Brooks football history with a 90-38 record in eleven seasons at the helm.

He was the Times Daily Coach of the Year in 1992, 1993, and 2007.

Hill coached the North-South All-Star game in 2006, and received the AHSAA Distinguished Service Award at the Alabama- Mississippi All-Star game in 2007.
