Josh Wright
Josh Wright graduated from Jacksonville State and attained a bachelors in science degree and a minor in health and recreation. He became the head football coach at Bessemer Academy in 2008 following in the footsteps of Mark Freeman.
His teams never skipped a beat and he has posted an impressive 131-37 record over thirteen seasons with the school. His teams won four state championships in the AISA and played in another five title games.
Only his 2012 team failed to reach the postseason. His overall playoff records stands at 29-10 and his teams have won nine region championships.
In 2021 Wright moved on to Tuscaloosa Academy where he became the head football coach.
Coach Wright is the son of legendary high school coach Lynn Wright who won 209 games in the AISA.
