Kerry Stevenson attended the University as a Presidential Scholar and Majored in Mathematics. He also received a Masters Degree in Math Education from Alabama A&M University.
Stevensons first teaching and coaching job was at Mariner High School in Cape Coral, FL. where he
stayed for two years before moving back home to Birmingham Huffman High School. He was offensive coordinator there for 7 years before moving to Mobile and coaching as an assistant at Vigor High School for one year.
He also served as assistant football and head basketball coach at Alma Bryant High School for one year.
Stevenson served as an assistant football and girls basketball coach at Vigor in 2001-02. He landed at Alma Bryant High School in 2002-03 where he was an assistant football and boys basketball coach.
In 2003, Stevenson, 35, became the head football coach at Vigor when Coach Perine retired. His ten teams with the Wolves finished a combine 85-40 with all but one reaching the state playoffs. Stevensons 2008 team won a State Championship. The 2011 squad reached the title game before falling to Hartselle.
Following his departure from Vigor, he accepted a position with Nick Sabans Alabama football program in an off-the-field capacity. |
