Coach Rose landed his first head coaching assignment in 2000 at Sheffield High School. He served as the head football coach and athletic director for the next seven seasons before moving to Hoover High as an assistant coach in 2007 for one season. He was offensive coordinator during Rush Propsts last season in 2007.

Rose took a position on the staff at Bob Jones in 2008. he worked as the Patriots offensive coordinator for one season before replacing Shannon Brown as the head coach in 2009. Brown resigned following Bob Jones 7-5 season after serving five years as head coach.

In ten years, the Patriots have gone a combined 86-30 and qualified for the playoffs each year. Entering the 2019 seasons his overall record stands at 129-65 in seventeen seasons as a head football coach.
