Max Yarborough
Max Yarborough became the head football coach at Wadley in 1973 for seven seasons. He took over the football program at Woodland in 1980 where he remained for the next eleven years.
His 1986 team finished 13-3, losing to Cottonwood in the state championship game 35-6.
Following the 1990 season, Coach Yarborough retired from his head coaching duties at Woodland with a 116-77-1 record in eighteen seasons on the sidelines. His playoff record is 10-7 and his teams won six area and region titles.

In 1925 Langdale tied a record by defeating Milltown 125-0. Hamilton had set the record by thrashing Fayette 125-0 in 1915.
