 Ragan Clark

Ragan Clark graduated from Alexandria High School and the University of Alabama. He accepted the head coaching position at Randolph County High School in 1967 where his only team finished with an 0-10 record.

In 1968 he became the head football coach at Ohatchee. In eight seasons, his teams went 59-23-5 with four playoff appearances and an area title. His 1974-75 teams finished with a 20-3 record.

Coach Clark took over the football program at Piedmont High School in 1977 for two seasons where his teams went 6-14. After the 1978 season, Coach Clark left the sidelines for private business. Following nine years away from the game, Clark sold his real estate business to take the head coaching job at Ashville.

When Clark arrived in Ashville as the head football coach he brought two young assistants with him. They were later to be famous coaches on the football scene in Alabama.

The two assistants were none other than Rush Propst and his son, Bill Clark. Propst, who played under Clark at Ohatchee, followed his former mentor to Ashville. Bill Clark won State Championships at Prattville High School and is currently the head football coach at Jacksonville State.

Clark returned to Ohatchee in 1991 as the head football coach. His six teams finished with a 35-31 record. Each of his last five teams qualified for the playoffs.

His overall record as a head football coach is 105- 95-3 in 19 seasons. His teams went 6-10 in the state playoffs.
