 Scott Blackmon

Scott Blackmon was a standout quarterback on the football field for Eufaula High School. He was named to the 1966 3A All-State team as a second teamer by the Birmingham News. Blackmon, a 1967 graduate of Eufaula, was an All-State guard in basketball and played baseball.

In football, he passed for 1,011 yards and 12 touchdowns as a quarterback and intercepted 15 passes, including four in one game, during his senior year.

In basketball, he averaged 20 points a game and was part of the Eufaulas state runner-up finish in 1965. He was a starting pitcher in baseball as a sophomore, the only year the school had the sport during his high school career.

Blackmon was a two-year football letterman as a safety at Auburn University under coach Ralph "Shug" Jordan in 1969-70.

After graduating from Auburn, Blackmon started his coaching career as the defensive coordinator at Bainbridge High School in Georgia. After one season, he returned to Alabama and became the head football coach for two years (1973-74) at Dora High School.

Blackmon has been the head football coach at Cleveland (1975-76), Valley Head (1977-79), Section (1980-87), Florala (1988-90), Shelby County (1991-93), Louisville (1994), Dallas County (1995-1999) and Frisco City (2000-03).

Blackmon served as the head football coach at Lakeside to start the 2011 season before resigning after the first four games with a record of 1-3.

Following his retirement in Alabama, Blackmon became defensive coordinator at Randolph-Clay in Georgia before accepting the head job at Stewart-Quitman, Georgia for three years (2005-07) with a 2-28 record.

Blackmon is a 1997 Wiregrass Hall of Fame inductee.
