 Steve Mask 

Steve Mask graduated from Muscle Shoals High School in 1974 and the University of North Alabama in 1980. He also received his Masters from the University of North Alabama in 1982.

Mask began his coaching career at Colbert County High School in 1980 as an assistant football and basketball coach. His first head coaching job was in varsity basketball at Colbert County, where in two seasons the Indians won a region championship and appeared in the State Tournament.

He became the head football coach at Bradshaw in 1990 where he remained for the next five seasons. Three of his teams made the playoffs and the Bruins won a region title in 1991 which was the first in school history.

In 1997, he took over the head coaching duties at Buckhorn for another five seasons. His 1999 Bucks team won a school best nine games.

2002 saw him going back to Colbert County but this time as the head football coach. In five seasons his teams went 42-15 winning four region championships and qualifying for the playoffs each season. His first team reached the 3A championship game before losing to T.R. Miller 38-6.

He left Alabama high school football in 2007 and became the offensive coordinator at East Coweta High School in Newnan, Georgia. He returned as the defensive coordinator at St. Paul's in Mobile before taking over the head coaching duties in 2012.

Coach Mask took over the football program at St. Paul's in Mobile in 2012 and completed a perfect 15-0 season in 2014 capping the year with a class 5A state championship win over Pleasant Grove.

His 2015 team followed by finishing 13-2 and won a second consecutive championship in Tuscaloosa with a 41-26 victory over Mortimer Jordan. His 2020 squad finished a perfect 15-0 and claimed another state title.

His overall coaching record stands at 218-111 with seven region crowns and twenty playoff appearances in 27 seasons at the helm. He was twice Metro Coach of the year in Huntsville. He was also Times Daily Coach of the Year. He retired following the 2021 season at St. Paul's before moving on to Pell City the next season.
