Steve Meek
In 1990 he took over the program at Lawrence County where for the next five seasons his teams finished with a 17-33 record but failed to qualify for the playoffs in any season.
Coach Meek took the head coaching position at Decatur Heritage in 2011. The school had just started the football program and he was instrumental in building a winning program from top to bottom.
He spent the last 11 years of his career as the head baseball and football coach there. His last baseball squad finished as the runner up in Class 2A. His 2021 football team finished 10-3 losing in the quarterfinals of the playoffs.
His sixteen year career as a head football coach ended with an overall record of 103-75. His last eight baseball teams qualified for the playoffs. Coach Meek impacted thousands of people in nearly 40 years of coaching.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History
Parrish scored a record 77 points in a playoff game against Cedar Bluff in 2001. The Tornados were shutout the following week 19-0 by Courtland.
