 Tom Causey

Tom Causey graduated from Lowndes Academy before going on to play football and coach at the University of West Alabama.

Causey became the head football coach at Dallas County High School in 2000. In three seasons his teams finished with a 22-12 record and made the playoffs each season. In 2002, Causey's Dallas County team went 10-2 and finished second to Demopolis in the area standings.

Causey moved to Andalusia High School for the 2003 season and guided the Bulldogs to a 10-4 record and a Class 4A semi-final berth in 2006. He was named the Class 4A Coach of the Year by the Alabama High School Coaches Association. His four Bulldog squads went 24-22.

Coach Tom Causey, 37, was named to succeed Doug Goodwin, who coached the Tigers to the Class 4A championship in 2004 at Demopolis High School. Goodwin, who had an 82-18 record in eight seasons, left to become the head coach at Russellville. Causey remained with the Tigers and also served as the athletic director at Demopolis.

His record at Demopolis in the past eight seasons was 67-29. Each of his teams qualified for a playoff.

In 2009, his 12-3 team defeated Russellville 27-14 in Tuscaloosa for the Class 5A State Championship. That same year, he was an assistant to Fred Riley of Davidson on the coaching staff of the South team in the Alabama All-Star game in Montgomery.

In 2010, the Demopolis head coach was part of the eight-man coaching staff for the Alabama team in the 24th annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game.

Following the 2014 season, Causey took his talents to Pelham high school after eight years in Demopolis.
