Handley Tigers
Tony Motley
Tony Motley became the head coach at Russell County in 1973. He stayed there for four seasons before moving to Munford in 1977.
As the head coach at Munford, Motleys teams won on a consistent basis. In seventeen seasons his teams qualified for the playoffs eight times. In 1992 they reached the State Championship game before losing to Daleville 40-8.
In 1994 he moved to Handley for a four year run. His teams improved and made the playoffs each of his last two years at the school.
Coach Motleys football coaching record is 163-107 in 25 years as a head coach in Alabama.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History
Morris Higginbotham coached three different teams to divisional state championships in the 1950s. He won titles at Walnut Grove in 1952, West Blocton in 1955 and Enterprise in 1960.
