Week 10

The regular season has ended and the new season begins next week.

    *  According to AHSFHS.org records Oxford won their 500th game on Friday night. Thanks to Mike Naugher for his assistance with the Oxford research. 

   *  Winterboro lost so our new state leader for consecutive wins goes to Hanceville with an eleven game winning streak including the final game of the 2010 season.

   *  Central Hayneville continues to top our list with forty-one consecutive losses.

   *  Crenshaw Christian has won twenty-nine regular season games in a row.

   *   Handley won on the road so their streak stays at thirty-one home wins in a row.

   *   Cold Springs has lost thirty-two straight region games.

   *   The T.R. Miller Tigers have scored in 315 consecutive games.

   *  Crenshaw Christian holds the state lead with 41 consecutive region wins. Deshler leads with a 26 game region winning streak followed closely by Bibb County and Briarwood at 25 games each.



Note: The new schools will not be included in team records because of the obvious reasons.

 * Sipsey Valley set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Maplesville 14-61.

* St. Lukes set a team record for margin of victory by defeating J.U. Blacksher 47-13.

 * Brilliant set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Phillips Bear Creek 50-62.
 * Headland set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Abbeville 30-60.
 * Tharptown set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Alabama School Deaf 42-62.

The first night game played between high school teams in the state occurred on September 23, 1927 when Pike Road and Cloverdale met in the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
