Darren Stewart resigned in December as the head football coach at Houston County after four seasons. His teams finished a combined 5-35 with two 0-10 seasons and never qualified for the playoffs. A graduate of the school, Stewart was not able to turn around the program. His overall record stands at 20-52 in seven seasons including three at Geneva County (2007-09). |
Michael Atkins assumed the head coaching duties in January following ten years as an assistant at Dothan high school. Atkins coached the offensive line and was the assistant head coach. He grew up in Sweet Water and graduated from West Alabama. Atkins will also serve as the Athletic Director at Houston County. |
