Championship Team Rosters
Tweet Share on Facebook
AHSFHS.org is working to complete rosters for each of the AHSAA State Championship teams since the playoffs began in 1966. There have been 260 teams that have won a playoff state championship and we currently have rosters for 121 of those teams. I believe this should be one of the easier projects to complete but we need your assistance.
We recently added rosters for 1975 Athens, 1976 Athens, 1977 Ohatchee, 1977 Marengo Academy, 1984 Meadowview Christian, 1987 Montgomery Academy, 1993 St. Clair County, 1985 Alexandria, 1989 Anniston and the 1994, 1995, 1996 Clay County teams.
These championship team rosters exist for every team and are out there scattered around the state in the possession of former coaches, players and fans. It is near impossible for us to find these rosters without your help. They are generally not printed in newspapers and only exist in programs or yearbooks. Dust off that box you have in the attic and email me a copy of that roster you saved so many years ago.
So, here is your chance to join AHSFHS.org in preserving the history of these teams. If you wish to see a list of the teams we currently have in our possession and the ones we are missing visit the pager here... Championship Team Rosters
If you can assist us with this project we will appreciate your assistance. Some of the rosters we have are incomplete and lack numbers, positions, grade, height and weight for the players. It would be nice to have complete rosters with all the details.
We are calling on all ex-players, coaches and fans to help us complete the rosters for every state championship team. If you have a program or yearbook with a team's roster email us a copy and we will add it to our list. Just snap a photo with your smartphone and email it to the address below.
