Blake Boren resigned his position at Montevallo in March after four seasons where his teams produced a 26-17 record with a couple of playoff appearances during his time at the helm of the Bulldogs. He is one of only six coaches to win a playoff game in the history of the program. Montevallo defeated St. James in overtime in the first round of the 2020 Class 4A playoffs. 2024 Season Garrett Langer was appointed as the interim head coach in addition to his roles as head coach of the boys soccer and wrestling programs while the school conducts a coaching search. He was the defensive coordinator last year for the Bulldogs. | |

The first night game played between high school teams in the state occurred on September 23, 1927 when Pike Road and Cloverdale met in the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
