2025 Head Football Coaching Changes

Charles Henderson


     Quinn Hambrite departs Charles Henderson after four seasons with a few ups and downs for the Trojans. His second team finished 12-2 losing to Ramsay in the Super Seven 41-20. His final season ended with an 0-9 record after the Trojans were forced to forfeit five games by the AHSAA. His record with the Trojans stands at 23-31.


2025 Season 

     Phillip Jones was promoted to the head coaching job at Charles Henderson on December 15th. Jones has been an assistant football coach at the school for 21 years. He served on the staffs of four different head coaches and helped lead two different teams that finished state runner-up. Jones has also served as track and field coach at CHHS.

Jones is a Brewton native that earned All-State honors as a running back at W.S. Neal before graduating in 1996. He went on to graduate from Troy University, where he played football.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

The first football game played by a high school team in Alabama was in 1892 when Central Birmingham (Phillips) lost to Alabama 56-0 on November 11.
