Harold Wells
Harold Wells was a standout wide receiver and kick returner at West End High School in Birmingham. He also played football at Kentucky State before getting his degree in 1981.
After serving as a graduate assistant at Livingston, Wells spent four seasons as the offensive coordinator at Tennessee Tech before becoming the passing game coordinator at Livingston. The following two seasons he served as the offensive coordinator at Elbert County High in Georgia.
Wells was the offensive coordinator at Scottsboro in 1990 and had the same position at Austin High School in 1991.
In 1992 Wells accepted the head coaching job at J.O. Johnson High School in Huntsville where he succeeded Nathaniel Jackson. Wells has remained with the program for the last 23 years. His overall record is 135-160 with 15 playoff berths and four region titles in 27 seasons.
His 2012 and 2013 teams finished the season 11-2 making it to the quarter-finals of the state playoffs. It was a great turn-around from the 2011 season when his Jaguars finished 0-10.
