Does Sylacauga pull Piedmont's toughness down to a level below the top 10? Would have thought Cherokee County and Anniston OOR would have balanced out Sylacauga's poor perfromance last year. Add in the Region games and the schedule looks challenge plus I expect Sylacauga to be much improved by the final week of regular season under their new coach.

Piedmont's schedule ranks 231st in the AHSAA so I would consider that just below average. Yes playing Sylacauga does lower their rank. But we do not factor in the fact that Sylacauga is 5A, Cherokee County and Anniston are 4A. All the strength of schedule looks at is the wins and losses of their opponents last season not if they are in a higher or lower class.

So Piedmont's schedule is tougher than it would appear at first glance.
