7A: James Clemens vs Sparkman
Sparkman has been one of the biggest surprises in 7A as they sit at 5-0, but the bulk of their schedule remains, starting with a James Clemens team that has yet to lose a region game this season. The Jets had controlled this region for several years before missing the playoffs last season, so they'll look to get back on top.
Pick: James Clemens 26, Sparkman 21

6A: Hartselle vs Muscle Shoals
Muscle Shoals brings their undefeated record into what is likely to be a region championship game against a Hartselle team that beat them 29-26 a year ago. The lone blemish on the season for Hartselle was a season-opening loss to 7A Austin. Hartselle is coming off a comeback for the ages last week when they rallied in the 4th quarter to beat Oxford 22-21.
Pick: Muscle Shoals 28, Hartselle 21

5A: Guntersville vs Scottsboro
A win for Scottsboro would give them the head-to-head tiebreaker over both Guntersville and Arab, which would essentially lock up the region crown for them assuming they take care of business the rest of the way. Guntersville is always a threat, but Scottsboro knocked them off with a young and inexperienced team a year ago.
Pick: Scottsboro 35, Guntersville 25

4A: Handley vs Anniston
This isn't as massive a game as it was a year ago, but it's still worht keeping an eye on. Handley has a single loss to 5A Central Clay Co and looks to be a state championship contender. Anniston isn't a title contender as they were last season, but they'll still be a playoff team with the talent to ruin someone's season early in the playoffs.
Pick: Handley 48, Anniston 21

3A: Flomaton vs Thomasville
The meat of their schedule is coming up over the next 3 weeks, but Flomaton currently sits at 3-0 in region play and firmly in playoff contention. Thomasville is undefeated and could be on a collision course with Mobile Christian for the region crown, but Flomaton is no cupcake as this was a one-score game a year ago.
Pick: Thomasville 34, Flomaton 21

2A: Cottonwood vs Ariton
Cottonwood has been a program that has steadily improved over the last couple years, and they're finally starting to see some results with this season's 4-0 start. They got a statement win over a solid Wicksburg squad a few weeks ago, but they could really announce themselves as a player in Region 2 if they can knock off Ariton. The 3-3 record for Ariton is deceiving, as they took region favorite G.W. Long to the wire earlier in the season.
Pick: Ariton 32, Cottonwood 27

1A: Pickens Co vs Lynn
This one was an instant classic a year ago, with Lynn pulling off the massive upset with a 21-20 OT victory, but it was ultimately Pickens Co who reached the state championship game. Pickens Co has already been upset by South Lamar this year by that same score, so a loss will eliminate them from region title contention.
Pick: Lynn 28, Pickens Co 18
