Are we in another week ten or is something miscounted?

According to the AHSAA it's week 10 now when it's actually the 11th week of games! I wish the AHSAA would just drop the "starting at week zero" nonsense.

It is not logical and messes everything up. I blame the NCAA for starting it.

For me, it?ll always be week 0 and the regular 10 weeks.

I agree I lost track myself. The week zero nonsense has everything back a week but we are actually in week 11 IMO.

When the NCAA started it, it kinda made sense - a special game before the regular season was allowed. Calling it "week zero" separated it from the first week of games. Then it got out of hand with more schools wanting permission to play a "special" game.

The NFL gets it right. Just play a few preseason games and let them not count towards a team's regular season win-loss record.

It's almost Thanksgiving. If I go to the store and buy 10 turkeys, are they going to charge me for 9 or 10? If I count the first one as "turkey zero", then I'm paying for 9. The store will, of course, count from 1, and charge me for all 10.

This is how I feel about Week 0 as well. It sort of makes sense when there's only a couple of games being played, but in high school 50% of teams or more are playing that first week, so calling it anything other than Week 1 is dumb.

It's the first week where every team can schedule a game that counts toward their overall record. That means it is Week 1.

Life begins at zero so shouldnt football?

I do agree the week 0 is hard to gather in and understand with the current setup. Call it week 1 and have a week 11 or however many weeks are used.

My mistake. I just count the weeks. Never understood the week zero thing myself.
