According to Al.com Mobile (South Alabama) and Montgomery (Alabama State) have submitted official proposals.

While I play for central, I do think it is kind of stupid, however, they only have 32 teams. In my opinion they should go back to six classes because 7A is unbalanced and teams like Saraland or Oxford would make it more competitive.

On a different discussion, If 7A gets a bye week before the finals, all other classifications deserve the same privilege.

I think they should make the 7A championship on a Saturday.

1A,3A,5A on Thursday
2A,4A,6A on Friday
7A by itself on Saturday.

More chances for non fans of those schools to come watch the game on Saturday .

Since I am a fan, I see things from a fan's point of view.

1A through 6A are played on two days with three games per day. It's conceivable that fans and family would have to drive to a game the day before to be there on time. Or spend the night after a game is over.

I'm retired and I have the time and money. I don't have children in school. Some families have several children, not just the one involved in the game. It gets complicated and expensive for them.

There's always watching it on television, but a parent owes it to their child to be there in person. Children always remember.

I worked with a man at Athens Gas Department who had played his high school football at West Limestone. He said that his parents never came to any of his games, and the stadium is named after a member of his family!

I personally like the idea of the Super 7 being rotated all over the state.
Definitely do not want to see Birmingham monopolize the Super 7.

As a player myself, I would say that Montgomery and Birmingham would be nice, mobile and Huntsville are both four hour drives from Phenix city

Both are good choices, but I bet fans from the counties near Tennessee would prefer something more centrally located.

The drive from Stevenson to Mobile is a long way. I know. I did it years ago on my job. Actually I drove from Bridgeport to Saraland, but it's about the same. Nearly all day - stop for lunch and fuel - multiple bathroom stops kind of drive. It won't bother the players one bit. They're young and excited about the game.

Of course fans from lower Alabama would feel the same way about driving to Huntsville.

Won't bother me after next year. No more high school games for me. We're wondering now how far away our grandson's college games will be. Hasn't committed yet.
