Some pretty strong words against the AHSAA from a coach.
Morson used a tiebreaker from 2016 to prove that this new interpretation was a deviation from past tiebreakers used by the AHSAA.

He also notes that James Clemens and Austin both spoke up in agreement with Florence's objection at the playoff meeting.

Morson also railed against the playoff structure in 7A, saying that there has never been in a vote or a meeting between 7A coaches about changing the matchups and travel and does not support the new matchup rotations.

Seems like it's a new bunch of people who don't know how to interpret what has always been done, it seems to be that way in all sports right now. In talking to James Clemens last week, they said it would cost close to $25k to travel and Florence's numbers back that up - all the more reason to get it right.

Of course the AHSAA will never admit that they were wrong, and there will probably be some new interpretation in the future of the same rules that goes against the 2016 way (the right way based on their own rules) and the 2025 way.

I was just about to make this exact post. It is really shameful that the AHSAA doesn't follow it's own rules and it's own precedents. Anyone who says "oh this is clearly right, the AHSAA's interpretation is correct" doesn't know the history and hasn't read the rules.

The AHSAA is good at messing things up, but I think this is pretty egregious, especially when all the teams from that region who made the playoffs (Sparkman excluded shocker), argued the interpretation was wrong.

So going forward are we to apply historical precedent like 2016 and the application of the tiebreakers as literally written, or do we now use the new 2025 interpretation? What a joke.
