With Columbia its a confluence of factors. One basketball is the number one sport as far as interest with students and fans. Thats with Huntsville in general. Two support for athletics as far as resources from the system is hit or miss as far as support staff for teams. Three while the school itself is not in a bad part of town. The district it covers is low income. The number of private school around Huntsville that attract students out of public schools and Columbia exacerbates this.
That's not a comprehensive list but at least a superficial explanation. If anyone has an addition that I missed or may be wrong about let me know.

That has to be the most hopeless coaching job you could have. You barely have a foundation, much less a program to build on.

Last Columbia game I went to was probably 10 years ago. They were at least winning 1 or 2 games a year back then but I just remember it being absolutely barren. There were more players on the sidelines than fans in the bleachers and the roster size probably wasn't over 30. I don't know how a coach is supposed to build a program when apparently not even the parents care enough to show up for games, much less any students. Wish they'd schedule Brindlee Mountain or Secrion or someone like that and get that devastating slump off their backs (which isn't a guarantee).

whats the deal? Bad area of town? I have been by the area, seems ok.. I just dont get it.
